Cause and Effect Ch. 26

John just blankly stared as his mouth wordlessly moved. His mind was going haywire. Why did he have this feeling that he wasn't supposed to be there with Shayera? A better question that presented itself to him was why did he feel like something wasn't quite right. Slowly he moved his left hand and placed it on her back and slowly ran his hand up her bare skin. He had been in this position before, caught somewhere between dreaming and waking. A place he secretly wished he could visit more frequently; a place where it was normal for him to feel her soft hand splayed across his chest. John sighed contently before closing his eyes in the hopes of savoring the moment for as long as possible. John then slid his other hand to lightly grasp the hand that was laid on his chest. Her hand was soft like silk, something he always noticed whenever their hands touched, yet he was always surprised by. Given her chosen profession it would be customary for one to believe her hand to be rough and

John simply stared from the other side of the room as he released a sigh. Throughout the years John found that all he could do was just watch on from the sidelines now. He couldn't even remember the last time he even had a normal conversation with her. It had to be at least seven if not eight months. They avoided each other as much as possible. The only time they ever interacted was on any Justice League missions they were both assigned on. Even then they made their conversations as brief and to the point as possible. John knew he had no one to blame but himself. He knew the moment that he had told Shayera he had seen their son in the future and that he was going to stay with Mari that he had lost her. All because he was afraid of following destiny and not wanting to be controlled. Over the years things fell apart further. Mari had eventually left him. He couldn't commit himself to her, not fully at least. While Mari refused to have children, citing that it would ruin her fashion

Lost Ch. 14

A/N: I did not forgot about this story. Just it's a mood I have to get myself into in order to write for it. That and when my tablet broke I had lost the section I had actually wrote for this chapter amongst a lot of other stuff. I wasn't particularly happy how the original chapter started so it did give me an opportunity to revamp it. ______________________________________________________ She was only a mere child. She was hardly anything but unique. She was what her people would refer to as a hetk'par. The term was used only for the weakest of Thanagarian soldiers and Shayera Hol was just that. She was nothing but a disgrace. A pathetic weakling who didn't deserve to be called a Thanagarian. She hated fighting. She never fought even during lessons. She regarded the two Thanagarian instructors, one male and the other female, before her carefully. Despite their attempts to speak quietly, she heard every word they spoke about her. If there was one thing Shayera could pride herself on

Alien v2 Epilogue

A/N: So I ended up not getting the last chapter done before moving. Still not completely finished moving but at least now I have a little bit of time compared to before. This chapter is sorta is what it is. The rewrite I had planned for the epilogue I can't even remember anymore cause it was too long ago. Not pleased with the chapter but I guess it's better than nothing. __________________________________________________________ John woke with a tired sigh. He brought a hand up and rubbed his eyes. He then cracked one eye opened and looked over to see that the sunlight was just beginning to filter in through the blinds. He then turned his head. He lightly frowned when he saw the thrown back covers on the other side of the bed. John then spotted a sticky note on the pillow. Upon picking it up he could immediately recognize the messy scrawl as his wife's handwriting. Terrific called, League mission, didn't want to wake you. PS you snored all night. I got no sleep. John smirked at the

Flight of the Hawk Ch. 30

"I'm telling you something was wrong with whatever that thing was on the bridge," Shayera crossed her arms over her chest as she sat at the bar. She took a drink out of the bottle of Jack Daniels in front of her before she spoke. "It only jumped because of that guy in the truck. There was some kind of wave in the air. Then that thing jumped." "So another power was in operation," George Emmett said as he sat next to her. "How do we prove it? How do we even know what that thing was? You think it was an alien or some weird meta? I mean I think it was an alien. It looked like some kind of weirdo rice pudding-jello monster." "Honestly I don't know. It could have been a shapeshifting meta. If it was an alien I never saw one like it before," Shayera looked out of the bay window of the bar. She sighed and momentarily bit her lower lip as she thought. "I didn't have time to take a better look at it before it jumped. That guy must have been in charge because as soon as he gave the order, it

The somewhat harassed-looking state official eyed the couple standing at the counter. The woman, who he immediately recognized as a Thanagarian, looked nervous. The man with her looked at her in concern. "Course it's looking to be married," The official grumbled. He switched to a businesslike tone. "Either of you been married before?" He asked, eying the woman with malcontent. "No," Was the joint answer. "Well, at least that'll cut out some time on the record searches." "Record searches?" The woman frowned as she bit her bottom lip. "Obviously we conduct searches on records of people who want to marry. Aside from certain essential rules, care

Frozen

It was still snowing. Inwardly, Shayera cringed. She didn't know how she was talked into this. The park sparkled in the winter sun as Shayera's snow boots crunched through the fresh-fallen snow. The snowstorms that had buffeted Detriot for three days straight had finally eased up that morning, only to start up again early in the afternoon. At least the current snowfall was significantly lighter compared to the intense blizzard that had been ravaging the city previously with howling winds. In its wake, the city was left covered with a coating of pure white snow. Shayera's breath misted out before her in small clouds, the cold causing her to shiver and grip her coat tighter around her body. Snowflakes fell lazily from the gray sky above, clinging to her hair and wings as she stared out across the dazzling white landscape. A deep silence that could only accompany winter reached her ears, broken only by the crunching noise of a thick pile of snow falling from the barren branches of the

Batman frowned as he sat perched on top of a nearby rooftop overlooking the Gotham harbor. It was an unseasonable cold fall night and and he was more than ready to go home to a nice warm bed after the night he had. "Bruce, tell me again why I'm sitting up here like a statue? This part of the harbor isn't even used anymore," his frown deepened. "Someone or something tripped one of the old security sensors in one of the buildings. It's just to be safe that no one is there. With the recent uptick we've seen with illegal splicer trading it could be a dealer that tripped the sensor," Bruce replied. "It could also have been a stray cat again," Terry stated in an unamused tone. "It better not be the same damn one." "Either way just keep your eyes open McGinnis. If nothing happens in the next twenty minutes then you can leave and call it a night." Terry sighed, "Thank god, finally can catch up on some z's. After the crazy night I've had I can't wait to get home. Hopefully Dana won't be too

Small Talk v2

A/N: The inevitable rewrite that was long coming. Like Alien this did not age all too well but not as badly as Alien did. Though, as per usual with me, there's always room for much needed improvement. ________________________________________________ John let out a light, barely audible sigh as he watched the last of the villains being taken into custody by the Star City Police Department. As the police van's back doors closed, John's gaze instead drifted and noted the League members grouping back up. Rocket Red and Hourman proceeded to high five each other while Elongated Man simply yawned as though the fight had bored him. That was when his focus went to the Thanagarian, who was standing off to the side. Being mission leader had not been easy for her. Rocket Red had not taken kindly to having, as he had put it, a damn Thanagarian in charge. Hourman had not been much better and had been very verbal at his disdain to having to listen to the Thanagarian. Elongated Man had been more or

A Writing Tutorial: How to Write Fanfiction

Get to know your fandom. I think this is the most important part to writing fanfiction. Nobody wants to read a story about their favorite characters acting completely unlike themselves. Also, if you say something never happened that did happen in the movie/show/game/whatever, then it is an AU story (Alternate Universe), or you just don't know what you're talking about. So please, for the sake of everyone involved, if you aren't sure about something, look it up. It's not that hard. It takes Google about .6 seconds to find it in most cases. And you can always check Wikipedia. Think out your story before you actually write it. You don't have to
